A Batch of Circuit Blocks

A Batch of Circuit Blocks…

We use this baker’s pan rack with full size sheets to organize the glue-up and assembly of our circuit blocks in batches. One full size pan sheet fits 88 circuit blocks and we can fit up to 20 pans in the rack (quite a few blocks at a time!) There are a few steps involved in the assembly process. At this stage, we have the components soldered with wire leads and they are mounted into the wooden upper component enclosures. We take those pieces and fit and glue them into the mating pockets in the corresponding bottom bases. We do these in pan quantities and move them to the rack for drying. Once dry, we take a pan to the next assembly station where we fasten the posts, washers + screws and terminate the wires. After this step, the blocks return to the pan tray and await final testing. Once they pass quality control, we move them to the completed circuit block bins where they await packing and shipping (which usually happens pretty quickly!) Ideas in the studio come from lots of directions, and sometimes it is tough to remember where one came from, but we give Kara Selberis full credit for suggesting this perfect system for our batch production!
